OMAHA, Neb. - Transaction Systems Architects, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSAI), the parent company of ACI Worldwide, reported net income of $8 million, or 21 cents per diluted share, on revenues of $76.5 million for the second fiscal quarter of 2004, compared to net income of $4.1 million, or 11 cents per diluted share, for 2003's second quarter.
For the latest quarter, revenues were comprised of software license fees of $42.4 million, maintenance fees of $22.3 million and services fees of $11.8 million.
The company's recurring revenue was $46.8 million, or 61 percent of revenue, and non-recurring revenue was $29.7 million, or 39 percent of revenue. Recurring revenue consisted of monthly license fees of $22.2 million, maintenance fees of $22.3 million and facilities management fees of $2.3 million.
For the six months ended March 31, 2004, revenue totaled $150.5 million, compared to $131.7 million for the same six-month period in fiscal 2003. Net income was $18 million, compared to $7.1 million in the first half of fiscal 2003.
During the latest quarter, the company added 18 new customers, including 14 at ACI Worldwide, the company's largest business unit. ACI Worldwide also licensed capacity upgrades to 17 customers and licensed 12 new applications to existing customers during the quarter, including a BASE24-es solution on the HP UX platform.
The company has revised its revenue estimate for fiscal 2004 from a range of $271 to $287 million to a range of $282 to $292 million. The company has also revised its EPS estimate from a range of 65 cents to 77 cents to a range of 74 cents to 83 cents.
