Tidel Engineering, L.P. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tidel Technologies, Inc., based in Houston, Texas. Tidel's lineage and reputation for quality equipment dates back to 1977.
Tidel is an acronym for TIme DELay, a method of delivery familiar to many retail store operators throughout the world. From the beginning, our mainstay product has been the Timed Access Cash Controller (TACC). This well known security product line, represented by over 100,000 units sold throughout 36 countries worldwide, has evolved through many designs to its current high tech configurations and features. Its ultimate appeal is dependable, effective cash management through quality workmanship.
Today, Tidel is equally well known for its line of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). This unique family of Focus Function - non deposit taking ATMs is known in the marketplace as the Low Cost ATM with the High End Features. Tidel pioneered the dial-up Focus Function ATMs which has led to the enormous growth in popularity of ATM cash dispensers in the retail market.
Tidel provides ATMs that meet a wide cross-section of demands in the marketplace. Regardless of a customer's need, Tidel has the ATM solution; whether it's for a simple dispenser that provides a single denomination of cash (the Ignition Series 1000), or, for the more complex system that delivers multiple products (the Ignition Series 6000). Tidel is unique in the dial-up ATM market because the availability of information from its dispensers, using Tidel's AIMS (ATM Information Management System) is similar to the more traditional lease-line ATM.
Tidel's third line of products is the Chameleon. Chameleon is an Internet-savvy, interactive multimedia kiosk that combines the security of traditional Electronic Funds Transfer ("EFT") banking networks with the limitless e-commerce options of the Internet, thereby taking the ATM far beyond its existing boundaries. For example, an ATM user could make a cash withdrawal, and then buy airline tickets and book a hotel reservation, all while receiving high-impact advertising messages in broadcast-quality video and audio.
