2 Romanians arrested in Ontario for alleged cash trapping at ATMs

Police in the York Region of Ontario have arrested two men from Romania who allegedly used cash trapping devices on ATMs. The men have been identified as Razvan Zenica, 41, and Vasile Stoean, 52, according to a report by CP 24.

The men would allegedly place double-sided tape inside the cash dispensing slot, trapping the money, leading customers to believe the machine was out of order. They would then return to retrieve the money.

Cash allegedly found both double-sided tape and metal slides that could have been used for these thefts. The two men are charged with 19 counts of theft under $5,000 and 19 counts of mischief under $5,000.
