Two men named Darrl Edwards and Braylon Marshall have been arrested and charged with allegedly stealing cash from a bank ATM in Detroit, then spending the cash at Somerset Mall, according to a report by Fox2Detroit.
The individuals allegedly used a stolen Ford F-350 to rip open the ATM in a hook and chain attack. They then removed $138,000 from the machine. Two other suspects were spotted at the scene, but have yet to be identified. The incident caused an estimated $80,000 in damage to the ATM as well.
Edwards has an existing criminal history such as theft in 2006 and transporting/selling a controlled substance in 2015.
"The cell phone data, license plate readers and surveillance video from the mall show Edwards arrived in his Nissan around 11 a.m. and left at approximately 5 p.m.," the criminal complaint said. "Edwards, suspect, and the two other men purchased items from various stores, including high-end retail stores, walking out with multiple bags of merchandise they paid for in cash."
