Northeast Credit Union’s (NECU) 70-year presence in New Hampshire has created a loyal member base, but longevity can also present challenges when it comes to keeping facilities and equipment up to date. As a case in point, in late 2005 NECU recognized the need to upgrade its aging fleet of ATMs. Increasing competition for the regions’s banking consumers had intensified the ongoing race to make services more convenient, user-friendly, and cost-competitive. The credit union’s ATMs played an important part in that mission, leading NECU to call on Pendum, its ATM partner of 15 years, to facilitate a smooth and successful upgrade program.
Making the Case
In a time when ATM transactions are no longer a high-growth source of revenue, NECU’s decision to replace multiple machines didn’t come without careful consideration.
