In 2003, Bendigo Bank was set to become a full participant in the credit card business. The Bank had grown rapidly from around 5000 merchants to 7500, and needed a merchant acquiring system to support further growth in the marketplace. It was looking for vendors to help it realise ambitious growth plans without damaging a reputation for excellent customer service, and without requiring a ramp up of internal expertise.
Greg Devlin, Chief Manager Card Division of Bendigo Bank, commented, “We found it was a big advantage that GFG had already deployed the system with another bank, and we were able to draw on their expertise and experience. The result is that we now have a very profitable business.”
