ATMIA: Sponsoring FIs and ATM ISOs in a fragile economy
During the ATM Industry Association's annual North American conference in Miami, which ran Feb. 17-19, ATMIA hosted a panel discussion that touched on a number of issues affecting the ATM industry today. Among the issues discussed was the relationship between independent ATM deployers (ISOs) and the financial institutions that sponsor them. Tracy Kitten, editor of ATMmarketplace.com, asked the panel to share its thoughts about the steps ISOs should take to protect themselves, should sponsoring banks go under or be acquired. Kendall Harsch of Metabank-Meta Payment Systems and Ron Schuldt of Columbus Data Services share their insights.
