Recently, The U.S. Justice Department revised its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, including its Standards for Accessible Design for ATMs, to ensure the same degree of privacy for input and output of information is available to all individuals. This includes a requirement for speech output and touchable input controls to assist visually impaired customers.
 
What does this mean for your bank?

• Each machine will need to be reviewed to determine what is needed to comply.
•  ADA requires each institution to implement a compliance plan by the effective date, March 15, 2011.

• We will send a technician to each ATM to gather the necessary information.   For each ATM, the manufacturer, model number, year of manufacture or installation, software operating system, processor & memory size/speed, monitor type, and speech output capabilities are needed.
