WebNMS launches ATM Site Manager

Nov. 29, 2012

WebNMS, a division of Zoho Corp. and a global provider of network and element management solutions, has announced its foray into the machine-to-machine solutions space with the launch of ATM Site Manager developed from Chennai for the global banking industry.

M2M technologies promise a future where machines will now be connected through the Internet and will actively communicate with each other, transmitting vital data to a central location, according to a company press release. Each device must be equipped with a communication module or a sensor for data collection. The data generated from this communication allow enterprises to gain actionable insights, and the two-way communication between machines eliminates the need for human intervention in many routine service operations.

According to a research report from the analyst firm Berg Insight: The global number of wireless M2M connections is forecasted to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27.2 percent to reach 359.3 million in 2016.

The ATM Site Manager will remotely monitor passive infrastructure like air conditioners, camera, lighting systems, battery banks, door lock systems, etc., across thousands of ATM sites and will generate actionable information in real time, according to the release. The product is built on the WebNMS Framework, which deployed more than 25,000 times for telecom service providers across the globe.

"Industry leaders predict that the number of connected devices will surpass 15 billion nodes by 2015, and reach over 50 billion by 2020, with the majority of the surge in connections expected to come from Machine-to-Machine applications," said Sudhakar S Marthi, VP of sales and marketing - APAC, Zoho Corp. "The increased availability of end-to-end solutions and Internet of things has set an environment for a more accessible M2M market for enterprises globally."
