Emirates-NBD, the largest banking institution in the Middle East according to assets, is rolling out video chat at 10 to 15 ATMs located throughout the UAE in order to give users a direct video feed to multi-channel contact centers in an effort to boost customer service, according to GulfNews.com.
The video chat will be launched through a partnership with Avaya Networks, a global provider of business collaboration and communications solutions.
"We're very proud to be one of the first banks to offer these services," said Ali Sajwani, the bank's chief information officer, yesterday at Telecoms World Middle East 2011 in Dubai. Sajwani did not announce a specific launch date for the new video-enabled ATMs, but said rollout would be paced across the country.
