Cardtek USA, a division of financial transaction software provider Cardtek Group, has added NFC mobile expertise to the technology support capabilities at its office in Des Plaines, Ill.

At its Chicago-area center, Cardtek provides customer training and support services in EMV card migration, instant EMV card issuance, EMV kernels for hardware devices and more. NFC mobile expertise will be provided by Serdar Akyel, who acquired experience in that sector working on major NFC mobile projects in Europe, said a Cardtek announcement.

"Our 10 years plus of EMV experience in Europe and Canada has allowed us to develop very robust, high-quality and cost-effective solutions for the many financial institutions needing EMV products in the U.S. EMV rollout," said Gregg Smith, Cardtek USA sales manager for North America.

"We feel that Instant EMV Card Issuance will be very important for banks and credit unions starting in 2013," said Esabil Bulbul, North American product management director at Cardtek USA. "Our award-winning Palmaris Instant EMV card issuance product is low cost, easy to install, and is now supported by our Chicago team."

Cardtek Group is comprised of several financial services entities, including Istanbul-based SmartSoft, CordisNetwork, CredoWork and Phaymobile.
