Androscoggin Bank, a community FI based in Maine, recently installed the ARCA CM18 cash recycler in a high-traffic branch in Auburn, Maine, one of 10 cities where the FI operates.
Actually, the bank wasn't actively looking for a cash automation solution. But after taking the opportunity to conduct a one-month, in-branch test of the machine, the bank decided that the CM18 was worth the investment, said a news release from ARCA.
"When using the CM18, our staff isn't focused on money — they're focused on our customers," said Giselle St. Amand, retail manager for the branch. "And since we installed it, we've had fewer teller outages and we can conduct more transactions in much less time."
St. Amand said the branch staff has found the CM18 simple to use, in part because of its ergonomic design. Also, ARCA provided a three-day training program to familiarize staff with the machine and its functions.
Worry-free operation was another selling point, said St. Amand. "We can clear 99 percent of jams without opening the safe."
