When a new ATM (or any product for that matter) is launched in the market, purchasing hesitation is generally brought on by fears that the product will have early recall-related issues.

Luckily, with Genmega – a new ATM brand that recently released new ATM models – IADs can feel comfortable knowing that although new to the market, their manufactured components are not at all new to the industry.

It’s my goal with every ATM review to address any early and major tech-related issues or recalls. But in my experience with the Genmega 2500, no recalls or issues have come to my attention since its launch back in February of this year.

I can only assume that the reason why the G2500 has become so well received by buyers is because Genmega’s components have undergone years of testing and improvement in the market, thus providing Genmega with a solid product, which in turn has helped to resolve any fears of purchasing this new ATM model. In the event that a problem does occur, Genmega backs their products with a one-year parts warranty.

I’ve carefully analyzed each feature of the G2500 ATM and found that whether it's the IAD, ATM operator or end user, each will notice tremendous benefits while using this machine.

Benefits for the IAD

The G2500 ATM is currently selling for a very reasonable price in the market, especially for the features and options it comes with. The additional configuration choices allow IADs to custom-fit each G2500 to the needs of their customer or location.

All G2500’s come standard with a large 8-inch high resolution LCD screen, with the option to upgrade the LCD to a 10.2-inch touch screen for just a few hundred dollars more. IADs who are looking for an ATM with the ability to display custom graphics, the G2500 is, in my opinion, worth taking into consideration. I’ve found that size and clarity of both screen options allow for tremendous visual appeal to attract users.

Custom graphics on printed receipts are also becoming more attractive. For IADs looking for this specific feature on an ATM, you’re in luck. Although not standard on the G2500, it does have the option to upgrade from the standard 56mm printer (with 2-inch paper) to the 80mm printer (with 3-inch paper).

A major selling point for purchasing new ATMs at this point in the industry is that they ship fully-ready to meet upcoming ADA regulations. For IADs who need to upgrade older ATMs in order to meet ADA compliance, the G2500 has the option to ship as a shell option (without a dispenser), allowing IADs with De La Rue SDD dispensers the opportunity to save a couple hundred dollars off the G2500 price by using these dispensers in the machine instead.

In addition to supporting cash dispensers from alternative manufacturers, the G2500 is built to allow IADs the option of fixed, removable and multi-cash cassette dispensers (up to 3,400 notes).

Added security with an enhanced design to the vault door – known as the overlap door – is found on very few ATM models in the market. The G2500 comes standard with this overlap door, reducing the chances of thieves being able to access the vault with a crowbar.

Benefits for the ATM operator

One of the biggest benefits of Genmega’s ATMs, including the G2500, is that a majority of their parts are interchangeable with ATMs manufactured by Hantle (i.e. 1700W and C4000).  Their interchangeable parts include the dispensers, power supplies, keypads, receipt printers and card readers – all of which have been manufactured and deployed in the marketplace for several years.

Similar to the majority of ATMs available in the market, this ATM comes standard with Windows CE and TCP/IP.  For ATM Operators who have become accustomed to programming Hantle ATMs, programming the Genmega 2500 will be especially simple since their setups are so similar.

ATM operators may notice that the cabinet, which houses the power supply, is much larger than other ATMs. This allows the operator more room to work, making it much easier to move about the parts housed in the upper cabinet.

Benefits for the end user

Along with a high-definition LCD screen, an integrated illuminated ATM sign comes standard with every G2500 ATM. These features provide users with a much easier time locating an ATM, or noticing it when they walk by. Another new feature found on the G2500 is flashing words for the indicator lights. Instead of labels such as “receipt” and “card” being stagnant, these words and arrows simultaneously light up in green, making it much easier for the user to navigate the machine.
