Wincor World went into full swing this Tuesday in its airy and expansive new home at the A2 Forum in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. In a way, the bright, open and modern new venue mirrored the openness and optimism of Wincor Nixdorf about its prospects for expanding into new markets and excelling in those where it already has a strong foothold.
In 70 keynote and workshop presentations and more than 500 exhibits — including 46 by Wincor business partners — the company demonstrated a focus on customer-driven and end-user friendly product enhancements and introductions.
One new product designed to please and delight both target audiences is the new Wincor Nixdorf PC/EMobile cash application, which the company believes will serve the consumer's demand for convenience and the FI's need for differentiation.

Market research firm Gartner has forecast that transactions performed using mobile devices will exceed $600 billion worldwide by 2016. In anticipation of this growing demand, Wincor developed its new smartphone application in conjunction with its self-service delivery model, integrating mobile devices with automated tellers.
The idea behind the app is that FIs that offer the app can significantly reduce the amount of time their customers must wait in line or at an ATM. With the app installed on a smartphone, the customer can find the nearest ATM or pre-stage transfers or cash withdrawals (or both), even going so far as to choose the denomination of banknotes to be withdrawn.
PC/E Mobile Cash accommodates other business transactions as well, for instance, paying a bill with cash, dispensing cash to a third party, or receiving a deposit, such as a payroll check. Guests at Wincor World had the opportunity to fully test all functions using their own smartphone.
Wincor also built flexibility and strong security measures into PC/E Mobile Cash. Bank customers can decide for themselves how they prefer to authenticate their identity at the ATM. The app gives them the options of using their bank card and PIN, or without a bank card, using two independent codes. The customer is free to select the first code, matching it with one generated by the mobile cash server at the time of the transaction to ensure complete security.
Weber said that FIs can quickly and easily integrate the PC/E Mobile Cash solution — which is now available — into their existing self-service network, providing customers with the new service in no more time than it takes to download and set up the appropriate app for their smartphone operating system.
