OMA Emirates – Solution Gulf has announced that Kathmandu, Nepal-based Himalayan Bank will use its NanoSwitch integrated banking switch and card management system. The solution is capable of managing ATM and POS devices and acts as the central interface for all payment and banking activities.
NanoSwitch is built on an open platform and designed to be backward-compatible with legacy systems. A stable interface enables communication with the information system of the bank and with the CMS, including both credit and debit issuance modules.
Himalayan Bank Ltd. will employ the software's complete back-office system for electronic banking, as well as real-time applications to manage ATM and POS terminals, and authorizations from Visa, MasterCard, and Amex.

Niranj Sangal, group CEO of OMA Emirates-Solution Gulf said it was imperative to Himalayan Bank to select a provider whose solution would not require drastic changes to the bank's existing system. "[This], together with our strong in-house team of software developers positioned OMA Emirates-Solution Gulf to provide a full-fledged flexible system [that recognizes] the entire issuance and acquiring requirements of Himalayan Bank Ltd." he said.
