The Dream Mall, Taiwan's largest shopping center, has installed 10 GRGBanking P2801L Intelligent Cash Deposit Machines. The ATMs will provide the mall's 600 retailers with real-time crediting of deposits to their bank accounts.
"This sets an important milestone for the cash industry as [to] how we can manage the cash logistics chain in a more effective and efficient way, especially when the retailers [are] under pressure of their operational cost keep rising," said Gary Soon, regional sales director for Asia Pacific at GRGBanking.
Prior to the Dream Mall installation, GRG and its local partner in Taiwian, Intersys Taiwan Ltd., studied the cash deposit habits of the mall's retailers and discovered that the deposit center at the mall was experiencing a "rush hour" just before closing time. With demand exceeding the deposit capability of the center, cashiers were obliged to wait in long lines to make deposits.
To alleviate this problem, GRG recommended its high-speed, high-capacity P2801L with state-of-the-art technologies that include banknote validation, sorting and serial number tracking. According to GRG, this Intelligent Cash Collection Solution is ideal for situations that involve large volumes of cash in transactions, such as supermarkets, gas stations and casinos — and malls.
So far, the solution has served the Dream Mall well, said Garry Yang, general manager at Intersys. "We are very pleased with this project that truly [is] enabling Dream Mall to increase its store efficiency, thus reducing their overall costs associated with cash handling, as well as improving their customer experience."
