UL has opened an office in Plano, Texas, further expanding its presence in the United States. The new office marks a significant step for UL in its commitment to deliver transaction security services to customers in North America.
UL transaction security services were created through the acquisition of RFI Smart in 2010 and Collis and Witham Laboratories in 2012. Last month, the three companies rebranded under the UL name. Together, they provide extensive resources for payment, mobile, e-ticketing and ID management concerns worldwide, including:
- Advisory services;
- Training courses;
- Security evaluation (including PCI and Common Criteria);
- Functional test services and certification;
- Test tools.
UL's Transaction Security service line is officially recognised by numerous payment associations, including Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, EMVCo, GlobalPlatform, MobeyForum, Smart Card Alliance, ACT Canada and more.
The opening of the office in Texas will make a difference in the local expertise available in North America, said Dirk Jan van den Heuvel, managing director of UL's transaction security team.
