Wright-Patt Credit Union, an Ohio-based FI serving more than 230,000 members, has announced that it will begin introducing NCR APTRA Interactive Teller technology early next year. Starting in February, Wright-Patt members will be able to conduct remote transactions over an ATM with assistance from a live Wright-Patt teller.
Wright-Patt will begin by testing 19 APTRA Interactive Teller units — 12 in existing and new branch lobbies and off-site locations, and seven in-branch drive-throughs. Sales, installation and servicing of Interactive Teller are being managed through ATOM Financial Products, an NCR solutions partner since 2006.
APTRA Interactive Teller combines video collaboration and remote transaction-processing technology on an ATM. This allows members to connect and interact with a remote teller in a highly personalized, two-way audio/video experience. Approximately 95 percent of all teller transactions can be performed via Interactive Teller, in addition to the usual product sales and service that an in-branch teller provides.

"What we liked about NCR's solution was that it was a direct interaction with a live teller who has complete control of the ATM, rather than just verbal assistance from a remote employee. Interactive Teller is easy to use and intuitive, and we are optimistic that it will provide a great experience to our members."
FIs are using the technology to reduce branch teller wait times during busy times of the day, offer teller services after the branch has closed, and add branch services in areas where they do not have a presence.
