East Hartford, Conn.-based American Eagle Federal Credit Union has joined the surcharge-free Allpoint Network, a Cardtronics Inc. affiliate. American Eagle is Connecticut's largest community credit union, with more than 100,000 members and $1.3 billion in assets. The Allpoint agreement will extend the FI's surcharge-free network to 50,000 ATMs worldwide, including 2,400 in New England.
"At American Eagle FCU, we make it our mission to be a progressive financial institution providing quality service and in-demand products, while keeping service fees to a minimum," said Teresa Knox, senior vice president if retail delivery and operations at for the FI.
"Credit union members rank surcharge-free ATM access as a must-have service and with Allpoint Network we can meet that demand with 50,000 ATMs, conveniently located where our members already shop, work and play."

Allpoint Network membership includes the network's suite of free, on-demand ATM locator tools. Within that suite, Allpoint offers free smartphone apps for iPhone, Android and Blackberry operating systems, as well as a mobile browser-friendly ATM locator website.
