National Bank of Andrews, a $155 million FI in Andrews, Texas, installed ARCA CM18 cash recyclers in the bank's three branches in West Texas in May, June and July of this year. And the bank's CFO said they're already having a positive impact on bank operations.
"Training new tellers is now down from two weeks to only one week," said Debbie Rulestead, National Bank of Andrews CFO, in a news release. "They don't have to be trained to count the money because the CM18 does it for them. Tellers can also concentrate on servicing customers because vault trips are down to two per week instead of two per day."
Since installation, teller operations at all three branches have become more efficient, Rulestead said. "Balancing is fast and accurate. The downtown drive-in facility used to have problems balancing by 4 p.m. Now they are done at 3:05. At the grocery store location, we only need one teller at the end of the day to close because they don't have to count cash. It has made for a much happier work environment."
The new system has led to a reduction of 20 to 30 percent in cash-on-hand requirements for each branch, resulting in improved security and reduced labor for cash counting and vault trips, the release said.
