USAA Bank, a provider of financial services to military members and their families, has earned a 2012 Celent Model Bank Award for its USAA Easy Deposit solution. The program allows USAA members to deposit checks via more than 2,000 The UPS Store locations in the U.S.
Easy Deposit is the first service of its kind available in retail outlets. It uses the same remote deposit capture technology behind the bank's Deposit@Mobile and Deposit@Home services.
"Celent considers USAA Bank a model bank for innovation in deposit gathering," says Bob Meara, senior analyst with Celent's Banking Group. "After leading the industry in remote deposit capture capability, USAA pursued a non-traditional approach to provide solutions for customers preferring in-person deposits."
"Our goal is to make it easier for members to manage their everyday finances in a channel that they prefer," said Jeff Easley, assistant vice president at USAA Bank. "Combining the power of technology with the nationwide footprint of The UPS Stores, Easy Deposit provides members a convenient way to deposit checks."
Since launching in late 2010, USAA members have deposited 1.7 million checks totaling more than $2 billion using Easy Deposit. The video below shows how the Easy Deposit process works.
