Encore Networks, a solutions provider for fixed and wireless machine-to-machine communications, today announced it will introduce a temperature-hardened version of its C2C router.

The ruggedized C2C is a POTS lines replacement that enables migration to IP cellular infrastructure in M2M and legacy supervisory control and data acquisition applications in harsh environments.

The C2C provides IP interworking capabilities to an analog modem interface in a single-box solution. It allows remote customer premise equipment to function without changes to operations administration and maintenance. The C2C provides a 3G cellular network’s increased data throughput, data security by SSL or IPSec (AES256, 3DES), and other IP-based services.

“In response to customer input, and the fact that POTS lines have begun to exhibit diminishing reliability and increasing costs, we continue to develop and deliver products that allow more users to eliminate their dependence on analog copper lines and move to a lower cost, all IP wireless cellular infrastructure,” said Scott Burk, sales director of Encore Networks. “The hardened C2C allows for this conversion in any harsh temperature environments commonly found in sub-stations, municipalities, utilities and manufacturing plants.”
