Federal officials bust $1.5 million ATM skimming ring

Officials have announced the arrest of Laurentiu Iulian Bulat, who is charged with installing skimmers on more than 40 New York ATMs, according to Information Week.

Bulat, who is in the United States on an expired visa, is accused of stealing $1.5 million since May 2011.

According to the report, Bulat failed to sufficiently disguise himself while installing a skimmer at an HSBC Bank location, and was busted by the video footage.
