Talaris, a global provider of cash handling solutions, today announced the launch of Nsignia, its latest banknote sorting machine, which handles the valuation, verification and classification of banknotes.
According to a company press release, Nsignia is designed to suit cash offices in cash-in-transit companies, bank branches, retail and gaming environments.
"We've worked closely with customers in the development of Nsignia to ensure it provides the functionality they now require to deal with a changing banknote handling environment, including new regulatory requirements and the need for more efficient cash inventory management and ATM replenishment," said Paul Adams, chief operating officer at Talaris.
The Nsignia has a speed of 600-800 notes per minute, with three output pockets delivering "three way sorting" at a single pass, which means that rejects can be physically removed for further evaluation without stopping processing. Sorting activities include dealing with soil, stains, graffiti, inkwear/de-inking, tears, holes, mutilations, repair (tape) and cornerfolds.
