According to Investors.com, the current top five companies in the data processing and outsourced services industry with the highest projected earnings growth are Information Services Group, Heartland Payment Systems, Echo Global Logistics, VeriFone and Cardtronics.
Information Services Group has the highest projected earnings growth of 100.0 percent; Heartland Payment Systems is second with projected earnings growth of 57.1 percent; and Echo Global Logistics is third with projected earnings growth of 48.4 percent.
VeriFone comes in fourth at 39.2 percent, followed by Cardtronics with projected earnings growth of 30.0 percent.
The growth of earnings per share, which represents current fiscal year estimated versus last year's actual, is important in determining future profitability and relative value. As a rule of thumb, higher EPS growth generally justifies higher earnings multiples.
