Diebold Inc. today announced that it will deploy 100 new Opteva ATMs to numerous BB&T bank branch and off-premise locations throughout nine states.
The new ATMs will feature touch-screen capabilities and PIN pad shields for enhanced user privacy. Diebold will also provide maintenance and support services.
"The 2011 ATM purchase agreement continues a long business relationship between BB&T and Diebold. We're proud to say that the bank's network now includes nearly 1,200 Diebold terminals," said Charles E. Ducey, Jr., executive vice president, North America operations, Diebold. "We are excited about working with BB&T to add new ATM technologies, services and security features that enable customers to have a better and more secure banking experience."
BB&T will also utilize two weather-resistive cash dispensers in the bank's new disaster recovery and special events mobile unit. With small footprints, weatherized exteriors and internal heating and cooling capabilities, these terminals meet the size and climate requirements for use in an enclosed mobile unit.
The Opteva ATM installations are underway and are expected to be complete by year-end.
