The Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh sponsors the framework.
The Capability Maturity Model Integrated Level 5 version 1.2 development model is the highest level of process maturity that independently verifies an organization's capabilities to continuously enhance its process through incremental and innovative process and technological improvements, said company officials.
