CO-OP Financial Services and the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues today announced a partnership that will give the Leagues' members access to CO-OP's nationwide surcharge-free ATM network.
"This agreement between the Leagues and CO-OP means members of participating credit unions can not only take advantage of the surcharge-free ATMs via CO-OP Network, but other products, such as CO-OP Mobile, which allows members to handle transactions via their cell phones and other mobile devices," said Sylvia Faith, senior vice president of business development for the California and Nevada Credit Union League, which is based Ontario, Calif.
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based CO-OP operates an ATM network of 28,000 machines, including 9,000 deposit-taking ATMs located in 7-Eleven stores and other retail outlets. Cardtronics Inc. operates the ATMs deployed in 7-Eleven stores.
As part of the agreement, the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues will promote CO-OP's complete line of financial products to the Leagues' members. The products include shared branching, payment processing, call-center services and e-commerce.
By forming a partnership, the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues and CO-OP show that credit unions can compete against banks by offering members convenient access to their accounts anywhere anytime, said Ritch Ellis, vice president of sales for CO-OP Financial Services.
The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues represent 331 credit unions with 8.5 million members and $12 billion in assets.
