AlarmIt Security Solutions announced yesterday that it has developed a security system that prevents internal thefts by ATM company employees.

"We noticed that most ATM break-ins were inside jobs and could have been stopped if the outside doors would have been armed," said Tony Morales, vice president of product development for AlarmIt, which is based in Matthews, N.C. "We could not find a product on the market that would protect the outside doors as a standard feature, so we designed one from scratch."

AlarmIt's product is called the MT3000. The alarm system logs every authorized or unauthorized entry into the ATM, enabling company owners to track employee access to the machine, Morales said. The security system is tamper-proof and cannot be abused.

When the top or bottom vault doors are opened or if the ATM is tilted, MT3000 will activate a siren for a duration of five to 30 minutes, depending how the alarm is set, said company officials. The ATM owner is then notified by SMS text message, e-mail or AlarmIt's web portal.

"Unlike other products on the market, the ATM owner is in control of when and if the siren should activate and how long it will stay activated," Morales said. "If the ATM is located in a convenience store, for example, and you don't want it to sound during business hours but still alert you when the door is opened, you can do that."

The MT3000 is available in a TCP/IP or dial-up version. The system includes a back-up battery to ensure operation during a power outage. The system also alerts the owner when the battery needs to be replaced.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
It seems that AlarmIt is up to their old tricks again claiming something “new” and copying from Bull Horn ATM Alarm. Bull Horn ATM Alarm has had SMS text messaging and email alert notification for 4 years. Bull Horn ATM Alarm is triggered by motion/tilt/light/shock/cutting/door switches. We have sold more than 6000 units since 2005 and have over 65 confirmed cases of ATMs attacked containing over $1,000,000.00 in cash saved by Bull Horn ATM Alarm. Our customers range from Cardtronics down to the individual merchant. To find out more about the best selling and “original” ATM Alarm go to www.bullhornatmalarm.com

LOL, I believe DPL has SMS text messaging but not Bull Horn alone? Nor did we ever imply that SMS text messaging was NEW, But it is New to our unit.

Our Unit will text, or email you via a TCP/IP port. And also logs access to the ATM and reports it to you daily, weekly or monthly via an e mail.

We also offer a Stand alone unit that does not require tcp/ip nor cellular, the stand alone unit will dial your phone via a standard dial up line and via caller ID identify the location. With no Monthly fee.

I am sorry if you think we are copying you and you think you should be the Only Game in Town. But this is not the American way. I challenge ANY one to build a Better Box than ours.

    Tony,
What grade did you last complete? Your spelling, grammar and punctuation were horrendous in your last post. You’re the “vice president of product development”?

Bull Horn ATM Alarm/DPL will report/two way communicate via cellular to SMS text and email of alarms, status and location. It will also process the ATM’s transactions. All of this is done from inside the safety of the ATM. Bull Horn ATM Alarm/DPL has done this since 2007. As far as Tony’s “challenge”, AlarmIt can simply be disabled of alerts by cutting the TCP/IP and/or phone line that comes outside the ATM. Rendering AlarmIt as a paperweight!

AlarmIt for years had tried to copy and catch up to Bull Horn ATM Alarm; we have the sales receipt, credit card number and Fed Ex tracking # of their first purchase in 2007.

The “American way” refers to a nationalist ethos that purports to adhere to principles of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." It does not mean that you can try to ride the coat tails of others.

    Sincerely,

In my opinion, the proposed solutions have advantages and disadvantages. In this case what would be the disadvantage of MT3000 in relation to the process of detecting unauthorized access?
