The parent company of OptConnect, a Kaysville, Utah-based wireless provider for ATMs, has named Chris Baird OptConnect's general manager.
Baird brings years of experience to OptConnect. He was operations manager for eGlobal, a U.S.-based ISO/IAD, which is owned by Grant Victor, OptConnect's parent company. In addition, Baird was sales manager for ATMequipment.com, a wholesale distributor of ATMs, also owned by Grant Victor.
"Wireless is becoming the new standard of communications for ATMs throughout North America," said Burt Matthews, president of OptConnect. "The benefits include no upfront costs, monthly savings, and complete mobility. We are seeing many ATM operators convert their whole portfolio of ATMs to wireless, and they are experiencing substantial reductions in their monthly telecom costs."
OptConnect recently released a gateway and marketing plan that communicates over 3G networks. Grant Victor, which is also based in Kaysville, repairs ATMs and ATM parts through ATMequipment.com. The business also supplies and maintains ATMs for hotels, convenience and grocery stores.
