EDC, a Walnut Creek, Calif.-based ATM ISO, has signed a branding agreement with PNC Bank to deploy 294 ATMs in Speedway SuperAmerica LLC convenience stores throughout Michigan.
Customers of Pittsburgh-based PNC Bank will be able to withdraw funds surcharge-free from the ATMs. They also will be able to check account balances.
"PNC is always looking for innovative ways to make banking easier and more convenient for our customers," said Jim Paul, PNC's retail executive for Greater Michigan. "With the addition of the Speedway SuperAmerica locations, we have strengthened our presence throughout the state by providing access to some 230 branches and 600 PNC ATMs, including Speedway locations."
PNC entered Michigan's market nearly two years ago when it purchased National City Bank, which was based in Cleveland. The deal PNC signed with EDC doubles the number of ATMs PNC now operates in Michigan. EDC, which will maintain the ATMs at Speedway locations, operates approximately 4,000 ATMs and self-service kiosks nationwide.
Enon, Ohio-based Speedway SuperAmerica operates 1,600 convenience stores in the Midwest. Speedway SuperAmerica is a subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corp.
