Siemens Nixdorf ATMs first to be certified by Citigroup
MIAMI -- Siemens Nixdorf Retail and Banking Systems, LLC has been certified as an approved vendor for Citigroup's global ATM network. Citigroup's global ATM software platform, named Catalyst, is now certified to run on the latest generation of Siemens Nixdorf ATM systems. Siemens Nixdorf's ProCash 2100, a new multifunction indoor ATM, and CSC 456 ATMs are now certified for CATALYST. "Siemens Nixdorf is proud to be the first vendor in the world with equipment certified for use with CATALYST," said Scott Hackl, vice president of banking sales for Siemens Nixdorf in North America. Built on a Web-enabled infrastructure, CATALYST uses standard Windows NT development tools and supports advanced features including multiple languages and robust multimedia. Applications built on CATALYST can be deployed on any hardware platform that supports device access through the WOSA/XFS standard. Hackl said, "Our company is committed to developing self-service products based on open industry standards such a WOSA/XFS. These standards allow applications to run consistently on a variety of platforms around the world, and allow our customers to expand into new markets more effectively." CATALYST will run Citigroup ATMs around the world. In addition, e-Citi, a business unit of Citigroup, will market the CATALYST engine to selected banks and vendors throughout Asia, Latin America, Europe and the U.S. According to Ed Godycki, Citigroup's vice president of Business Delivery for the e-Citi CATALYST system, the first CATALYST installations are now complete, with production rollout continuing in 2000 and 2001.
