SOUTH AFRICA -- Steven Kark, the managing director of ATM Solutions, was recently named South African Jewish Entrepreneur of the Year at a ceremony hosted by Investec Private Bank, in association with Lexus and SA Jewish Report.

ATM Solutions is South Africa's first independent ATM service provider, founded in 1999 by Kark and partner Rowan Swartz.
The 27-year-old Kark, in the biography submitted to the award committee, said that his philosophy on life was "to make the absolute most of every moment; once it is gone, so is the opportunity."
2001 has been a banner year for Kark, who also earned an invitation from Triton Systems to attend its annual Admirals Club meeting, held this year at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. ATM Solutions was Triton's top international distributor based on unit sales for 2000.
