LONDON -- In an effort to reach out to merchant retailers who operate ATMs on their premises, the ATM Industry Association and ATMmarketplace.com will present a workshop entitled "Merchant ATMs: Best Practice for Optimal Value" on Feb. 19, 2002 prior to ATMIA's Conference East in Hollywood, Fla.
ATMIA is targeting the convenience store sector in marketing the workshop.
"These merchant operators of ATMs are a significant but neglected sector within the ATM industry," said Mike Lee, international director of ATMIA.
Tom Harper, President of NetWorld Alliance, publisher of ATMmarketplae.com, agreed. "The convenience store is a huge market for ATMs – but how much exposure is there in this sector to the big picture of the ATM industry, to information, to networking, to regulations and to all those factors that could help these businesses make informed decisions about the ATMs on their premises?"
"Merchant ATMs: Best Practice for Optimal Value" will present an overview of the ATM industry in a series of presentations to assist ATM operators to make the most of their ATMs – whether they are leased or owned.
Speakers will include Dick Adams, executive vice president of AmStar Systems, which will debut its eca$hier – a multi-function financial center - at the ATMIA show. Adams will address future functionalities for retail ATMs.
NetWorld's Harper will showcase some free resources that merchant retailers might wish to use at ATMmarketplace.com.
Bruce Kreeger, president of ATM Center, a Mine Hill, N.J.-based ISO and a board member of ATMIA, will show merchant ATM operators how they can network profitably within the ATM industry.
A representative of Palm Desert National Bank, which offers a full range of electronic banking services including ATM vault cash and ATM cash management, will address the topic of secure and cost-efficient cash replenishment.
The merchant ATM operators will also be given an overview by ATMIA's Director of Operations, Lana Harmelink, of the exhibiters present at the trade show, to facilitate networking, and Mark Coons, president of American Special Risk, a specialist in ATM insurance, will speak on ATM insurance and security issues.
Attendees will also be invited to attend a cocktail reception following the workshop.
The price of the workshop is $300, with a discount of $100 for delegates who choose to attend the full conference.
