NEW YORK -- Fujitsu Transaction Solutions, in partnership with Inabled Online Corp., introduced a turnkey retail in-store advertising program that utlizes both its Web-enabled Series 8000 ATM and a 42-inch high-definition plasma display panel at this week's National Retail Federation's 91st Annual Expo and Convention.
The package can be seen at Fujitsu booth #503/517.
Ron Omohundro, executive vice president and general manager at Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc., said, "This is the first time a retailer, working with only one vendor, can get a turnkey solution that incorporates ATMs and instant, interactive digital promotions and signage along with a complete retail store solution."
In the Fujitsu/Inabled program, the ATM connects to the plasma display panel (PDP) to present real-time advertising and content. According to Omohundro, customers can view a product promotion, delivered by Inabled, on a large Fujitsu plasma screen. The customer will then be able to touch the PDP's interactive button and obtain a discount coupon at an adjoining Fujitsu ATM.
"Visual merchandising has developed in the last three years into a major media channel," said Bill Haynor, president of Inabled. "Our company drives three types of content to Fujitsu's plasma screens: advertisements; real-time information such as weather, sports and news; and retailer-specific offerings and promotions. We generate added value by managing all the media-buying relationships, allowing retailers to be retailers by focusing on their customers and operations."
According to a news release issued by both companies, retailers can purchase a bundled suite that includes an ATM, the ATM switching network, a 42-inch PDP, paid advertising and the broadband Internet pipeline to drive the messages. While pricing varies, depending on system requirements and the level of management services provided, a Fujitsu spokesperson said a retailer could begin a basic program, with a single ATM and PDP, for as little as $20,000.
