LOS ANGELES -- Cash Technologies, Inc. (Amex: TQ) says it has signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement with Western Union Financial Services, Inc., a subsidiary of First Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC), to facilitate the delivery of a variety of Western Union's financial services through ATM and POS terminals using Cash Tech's EMMA transaction processing platform.
"Advanced function ATM and POS terminals are an important new distribution channel for traditional financial services," said Bruce Korman, Cash Technologies CEO. "The EMMA technology brings a great deal of value to this strategy and the addition of Western Union's financial products will accelerate Cash Tech's ability to deploy its services throughout the industry."
In addition to EMMA, Cash Technologies has developed ATM-X and POS-X client software. According to a Cash Tech release, EMMA will allow consumers and businesses to access a variety of financial services such as check cashing, electronic bill payment and event ticketing via ATMs, POS terminals and the Internet.
