OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Euronet Services Inc. announced that its financial software subsidiary, ARKSYS, has acquired full ownership of DASH, an ATM network services provider and transaction processor based in Arkansas.
ARKSYS previously held a one-third interest in DASH. Established in 1996, DASH provides transaction switching, ATM and debit card services to 24 financial institutions in Arkansas and Texas. The DASH network currently includes 132 bank-owned ATMs. DASH will constitute part of a back-up computer center for Euronet's European operations.
"This acquisition shows how we can leverage our knowledge and experience from building an ATM business in Europe to bring innovative electronic solutions to small banks, credit unions, retailers, and other businesses that do not traditionally have ATMs," said Michael Brown, Euronet chairman and CEO. "While the ATM market in North America is very mature, there is still a lot of potential for emerging electronic solutions."
