Call them crime stoppers. You also can call them judges, as three of the ATM industry's security experts have been selected to pick the 2001-2002 ATM Security Industry Awards winners.
The judges, from the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States, will present awards for ATM Security Technology, ATM Security Best Practice, and Best Contribution to ATM Crime Reduction and Prevention.
The awards are sponsored by the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) and ATMmarketplace.com, which selected the following judges:
· Bernard D'Hondt, vice president of European Security Transport Association (ESTA), which represents security transport companies, including CiT operators, across Europe and Britain.
· Alan Townsend, crime prevention coordinator of Flying Squad, Metropolitan Police Services in New Scotland Yard, London.
· Dr. Chris E. McGoey, director of McGoey Security Consulting in San Francisco, Calif.
The awards will be presented during ATM Sec 2, ATMIA's second ATM security conference, April 17-18, at Manchester, England. The conference will address security on a number of levels, including physical, cash, data and electronic, card and network. Visit this site for more details.
Award nominations are due Friday, March 29. Nominations should include 500 to 1,000 words detailing why a company or individual deserves one of the three security awards. Only the winners' names will be made public.
