Diebold's AccuTrack introduced by USAlliance

RYE, N.Y. -- USAlliance Federal Credit Union will be the first financial institution in the U.S. to install Diebold's new AccuTrack digital video server that monitors security.

USAlliance, based in Rye, N.Y., plans to deploy AccuTrack at its rising network of off-site ATMs.

AccuTrack is a full-color digital video system that replaces cumbersome VCR surveillance systems because it can be programmed remotely and is able to transmit images and data to any authorized PC with a standard Web browser.

"VCR systems are very time and labor-intensive because we have to send people out to retrieve tapes every 10 to 15 days," said Tom Frenza, manager of Communication Systems for USAlliance. "In addition, searching the tapes for images is very tedious. Our goal was to install a digital surveillance product that would help us operate more efficiently and give us more flexibility in where we place ATMs."

AccuTrack captures digitally signed images and transaction data in real time from one to 12 cameras and will be upgradable to 24 cameras in the future. The digital information is stored on a multi-gigabyte hard drive, with a removable drive that allows for archival of important investigative information. Live and stored images from the server can be retrieved on-line by authorized personnel, using any standard laptop or desktop PC loaded with a Web browser.

USAlliance has purchased three AccuTrack systems to monitor ATMs serving IBM customers in Hawthorne and Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; and Sun Microsystems in Burlington, Mass.
