ATLANTA -- There is one mall in this city that will finally receive its first ATM, thanks to Citizens Trust Bank.
The 78-year-old bank recently opened an ATM in The Mall West End, which had yet to obtain one in its 27-year-history. The Mall, at 850 Oak Street, is 155,000 square feet and houses 60 national chains and local stores.
In the past, commercial banks shunned installing an ATM in the mall. However, Citizens Trust decided to undo that precedent with this opening.
"We can now provide the convenience of an ATM right here on our premises. A typical customer not only prefers the convenience of ATMs in malls, but will spend part of the money withdrawn from the ATM with the mall's merchants," explained Richard Dent, vice president and general manager of The Mall West End.
