ATMIA joins EFTA, to receive seat on Board

HERNDON, Va. -- The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA), has joined the Electronic Funds Transfer Association (EFTA) and will receive a seat on the EFTA Board of Directors.

In a news release, EFTA Executive Director Kurt Helwig noted that the EFTA has provided advocacy for the ATM industry on a variety of issues for the past quarter century. The two organizations share common interests on a number of issues, including ATM security, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the right of ATM owners to charge non-customers for the use of their machines, he said.

Affiliating with EFTA will enable ATMIA members to participate in EFTA's legislative and regulatory agenda, said Lana Harmelink, ATMIA's director of operations international.
