NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Diebold has installed Vision Direct, a new closed-circuit television system for pneumatic vacuum air tubes (VATs), at Banner Bank in Hermiston, Ore.
In a news release, Donald Daggett, senior vice president of Banner Bank, lauded the system's customer service benefits, added security in customer recognition and video retention capabilities.
According to the release, the system is appropriate in lobby or drive-through environments where direct visual contact is obstructed or not available, but face-to-face contact is desired.
The Vision Direct operator unit features a flat screen display that has been designed to allow eye-to eye contact with a customer. According to Bartholomew J. Frazzitta, vice president of Diebold's Physical Security and Retail Solutions Group, "The eye contact is so good and the interaction so real that it's as if you were actually in front of and face-to-face with your customer."
The unit mounts on an articulating arm that is easily adjusted to a teller's height. The two-way customer unit features a sunlight-viewable flat screen that displays color images and text.
The system is available in a one-way and two-way configuration, and can be integrated with Diebold's 816 Audio System to allow for both audio and visual communication between eight teller/operators and 16 customers.
An optional audio and video advertising capability occupies customers when operators are completing transactions, allowing banks to promote products and services to drive-through and lobby customers.
