SYDNEY -- Diebold is showcasing its new 3030 bulk cash recycling ATM, which accepts bulk amounts of cash, sorts it and credits it to an account, at this week's ATM Industry Association "Pacific ATMs" show.
According to a news release, the recycling feature makes deposited money available for fresh withdrawals and lessens the frequency with which machines must be refilled.
The 3030 ATM supports a Windows/XFS architecture for operational flexibility. According to the release, account inquiries, fund transfers, ticketing, MPEG video advertising and bill payment are among options that could be added to the terminal. The machine is available in front- or rear-load access models.
The Cash Recycler 3030 will be available in Australia and New Zealand by the end of the year.
According to Reg Bohler, Diebold's managing director of Australia and New Zealand, Diebold has already sold 60 cash recycling units to Chinese banks after launching the product there at the beginning of 2002.
"We are expecting that market to grow considerably in the next 12 months," Bohler said in the news release. "We believe that there will be a huge market for this ATM in Australia and New Zealand in both retail outlets and in traditional branches where small and medium-sized businesses can deposit their money easily and funds can be credited instantly."
