DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. and LONDON -- Mosaic Software has launched PostCard, a debit card management and issuer services system that will allow Mosaic customers to manage card production and the associated authorization services, while reducing fraud through, for example, its PIN processing feature.
An additional benefit, according to a news release, is that issuers access the services through a secured Web browser. PostCard is based upon the Microsoft.NET platform, said Dean Jordaan, Mosaic's head of software development.
PostCard integrates with the Postilion platform to enable processors to service any number of issuers, which according to the release ensures that the PostCard owner can provide custom services.
With PostCard, operators on card issuers' premises can define new cards, update existing cards and delete existing cards. The product also runs a card production staging process on a regular basis, allowing files to be built for the production of payment cards. The files can be used by the PostCard owner or by an independent card production company for the encoding of magnetic-stripe cards or personalization of EMV cards.
PostCard can speed delivery of services to cardholders, according to the release. For example, when a card is lost or stolen, PostCard can create temporary cards for immediate issue. Cards are sent to customers in an inactive mode and can only be used once they have been validated, a feature that improves PIN security.
