REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- E-business applications provider BroadVision Inc. (NASDAQ:BVSN) has reached an agreement with Cyphermint Inc. to provide BroadVision applications for convenience store chain 7-Eleven's Vcom financial services kiosks.
Under the agreement, BroadVision's Retail Commerce applications will be used to provide a web-shopping and service environment for Vcom. Cyphermint announced in May that it would provide software systems for the Vcom program (See story: Cyphermint adds fresh software to 7-Eleven's Vcom).
For the Vcom project, BroadVision's application will create a round-the-clock web-shopping environment. Customers will be able to purchase a range of products from retailers using the kiosk.
"The combination of Cyphermint and BroadVision will give 7-Eleven customers touchscreen access to a wide variety of goods and services like event ticketing, travel, travel directions, and maps, as well as online shopping with convenient in-store fulfillment options," Patrick Lally, Cyphermint chief executive officer, said in a news release.
The Vcom program, which offers ATM and other financial offerings on a 24-hour per day basis, is currently being tested in 98 Florida and Texas 7-Eleven locations. The program, which is expected to expand to about 3,500 kiosks, will have its formal rollout later this year.
