OMAHA, Neb. -- Hoping to ease the annoyance of traveling through a busy road construction project, one bank is giving its ATM users a bonus upon withdrawal.

According to the Associated Press, as part of a special "road warrior" promotion, American National Bank inserted some $50 bills in the ATM's $20 stack and some twenties in the $10 stack. The bonus cash is dispensed at random.

Bank spokeswoman Alisia Fava said officials hoped the gesture might ease drivers' moods, but it appears the bank is benefiting too. Traffic at the ATM has nearly doubled in the week since the promotion began.

No date has been set for ending the promotion, but the intersection work is scheduled for completion this year.
