BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada -- Canadian transaction processor Datawest Solutions Inc. (TSX: DS), says its Payment Solutions Group now provides payment processing services for more than 7,000 ATMs and more than 2,000 point-of-sale terminals connected to its network.
According to Interac, there are approximately 38,000 ATMs operated by its members in Canada, which include chartered banks, trust companies, credit unions and other financial institutions, giving Datawest an 18 percent share of the entire ATM market.
Datawest's services also include electronic switching, networking, clearing, settlement and device monitoring for both the independent or "white label" market and for financial institutions, according to a news release.
