LAS VEGAS -- QuikPlay LLC, which is majority owned by Global Cash Access (GCA), says its QuikPlay ATM has been awarded the Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Products Award 2003 by Casino Journal.
Morry Goldstein, president of QuikPlay LLC, said in a news release that QuikPlay ATM gives casino patrons "a new level of technological innovation and convenience."
According to Goldstein, patrons can swipe their debit card on a slot machine equipped with QuikPlay technology, enter their PIN and requested amount; funds (if approved) are credited to the machine.
"QuikPlay ATM gives patrons greater control over spending by providing access to funds in set amounts and allows them to control spending via daily limits set with the debit card issuer, as well as by jurisdictional limits controlled by the QuikPlay System," Goldstein said.
QuikPlay ATM supports GCA's Self Transaction Exclusion Program, or STEP, which allows gaming patrons to exclude themselves from access to their own funds from cash access devices in the GCA network. STEP, part of GCA's responsible gaming program, is deployed in nearly 1,000 gaming establishments, according to the release.
QuikPlay ATM also reduces cash-handling expenses for casino management.
According to the release, a panel of five judges evaluated this year's entries and chose the 20 finalists for the award, which will be featured in the January edition of Casino Journal. The products will be honored at the American Gaming Summit, Jan. 9-10, 2003, at the Rio in Las Vegas. Conference attendees will vote for their favorite products and services from the list of Top 20 finalists and the top three products will be awarded platinum, gold and silver medals.
QuikPlay ATM marks the third time in five years that GCA has earned the Top 20 award.
GCA, which is majority owned by First Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC), provides cash access and customer relationship marketing services to more than 1,200 gaming properties and other clients in the U.S., Canada, Caribbean and UK. More than 50 percent of all U.S. gaming revenue is transacted through GCA cash access devices.
