STOCKHOLM -- Qatar Islamic Bank has purchased 30 ATMs from Swedish manufacturer Banqit, according to a news release.

The ATMs feature recessed PIN keyboards and card readers, a capacity of up to 12,000 notes and an optional facility to accept deposits and checks, according to the release. They support EMV standards and Web connections.

Banqit's distributor, ITS, has 12 offices and 650 staff in the Middle East.

The first phase of the deployment is expected before the end of 2003.
