BROOKFIELD, Wis. -- Fiserv Inc.'s (Nasdaq: FISV) agreement to acquire EDS' Consumer Network Services (CNS) unit, announced in November, will place Fiserv among the top five processors of EFT services in the financial industry.
CNS has a suite of ATM and transaction processing services that cover a range of ATM, POS, home banking and information-based transactions, according to a Fiserv news release. Based in Morris Plains, N.J., CNS owns and operates six ATM and POS networks, including MPACT, ACCEL/Exchange and Exchange International.
Fiserv is an independent, full-service provider of integrated data processing and information management systems. The company serves more than 13,000 financial service providers.
